Review- Karppu Boomiyil Sila Karppu Aadugal

Film- Karppu Booomiyil Sila Karppu Aadugal
Director-Nesam Murali
Cast-Aswin Vijay, Nitya Sri, Karate Raja, Kanja Karuppu, Nesam Murali, Vyapuri

Its a narrative that runs on multiple tracks, the director making a futile attempt to link them all into a coherent whole. The title suggested a dark gruesome scenario where the unholy acts of those in power, whether politicians, cops or gangsters, would be explored. But no such thing happens, the film falling short of its title
The plot takes inspiration from the infamous Pollachi-incident. Where girls were blackmailed, intimidated and lured into sex rackets. The characters involved here are the sons of politicians, Sarathi a gangster, a women cop with her own agenda, and Shiva an innocent youngster (Aswin) caught in the crossfire. And there is the director himself in the role of a seasoned criminal, the character forced into the narrative. There is also a half baked love angle between Shiva and Sarathi’s daughter (Nitya Sri).
Its a rambling screenplay, the characters too many, the director clueless about the direction his narrative should take. Added to that is bad acting and poor execution.
‘Karppu Boomiyil..’ (114minutes) sans any sense or sensibility, is effort wasted.
