Review- Double Tuckerr

Film- Double Tuckerr
Director- Meera Mahadhi
Cast- Dheeraj, Smruthi Venkat, Yashika Anand,Kovai Sarala, Ms Bhaskar,Kali Venkat, Munishkanth, Karunakaran, Mansoor Ali Khan,Sha Ra, Sunil Reddy, George Vijay.

The plot revolves around Aravind (Dheeraj), who has two angels named Left and Right, accompanying him since his birth. An inadvertent act of one of them leads to Aravind’s premature death. What follows is mishaps and chaos as the angels try to rectify the mistake.
Debutant director Mahadhi, who has some short films to his credit, has attempted to make a quirky comedy with some oddball characters in it. But its a roller coaster ride for a viewer, with some of the gags and humour striking the right chord and some missing the mark. The film begins on a promising note. But after a while it loses pace, te interest in the proceedings waning.

The episode of a gangster Rocket and his henchman Murder Mani (Reddy, Sha Ra) who plan to kidnap Aravind and find themselves landed with his corpse, is a better handled episode. Sha Ra’s goofy bumbling act generates some fun moments here. Also amusing are some of the antics of the angels. But there are sub plots one too many, their link-up to the Aravind story seeming a tad too contrived. Dheeraj takes a dual avatar, he coming out better as Aravind, the diffident youngster suffering from low self esteem.
A promising piece of work from a debutant maker,’Double Tuckerr’ (120 minutes) engaging in parts, did have the potential to turn into a rollicking fun fare, had there been more consistency in its writing and treatment.
